How It Works

Enable auditable agent deployments by capturing step-level traces, decisions, and flow metadata. Implements a flow- and step-guided architecture so every action, rationale, and I/O can be recorded for later inspection or automated checks. Exposes structured artifacts useful for policy gates, human review, and reproducible debugging. This is supported by the Planning Pattern for structured execution flows.

Why It Matters

As agents take on more autonomous responsibilities, being able to inspect what they did and why is essential for trust and governance. Nomos makes auditability a first-class part of the agent development lifecycle, turning opaque runs into verifiable records and actionable failure signals. That visibility is key when building agent track records, assessing agent-to-agent interactions, and meeting compliance requirements. This also reinforces a clear agent card for governance.

Ideal For

Teams building agentic workflows who need reproducible traces, audit logs, and checkpoints for pre-production testing or compliance. This is particularly relevant when defining governance and oversight through a Supervisor Pattern.

How It's Used

  • Record step-by-step execution traces for post-mortem analysis and debugging
  • Enforce policy gates by inspecting structured flow artifacts before deployment
  • Create reproducible run artifacts for compliance reviews and human audits
